NPR's business news starts with newspapers teaming up to make money.

MONTAGNE: It's a tough time to be in the newspaper business as advertising money continues to move off the page onto the Internet. The New York Times yesterday said it's cutting about 100 newsroom jobs.
The New York Times is also one of four major newspaper companies involved in a new venture aimed at boosting online advertising revenue. The Times, Hearst, Gannett and the Tribune companies hope that a single portal giving advertisers access to their combined 120 Web sites will bring in more money from advertisers.
