D.C. Will Soon Lose Zoned Taxi Fare System

On Wednesday, Washington, D.C., Mayor Adrian Fenty ordered the city's taxi companies to drop the confusing zoned fare system in favor of regular meters.
D.C. is the only major city in the country with the cumbersome zone system.
