NoHo Hows Space Has a New Tenant & it's Not a Grocery Store
Sorry Team Fresh & Easy. And sorry Team Trader Joe's. Your cries for an affordable, trendy, eco-slanted grocery store in the stead of the vacated Hows at the Commons in NoHo will go unanswered. A new tenant is prepping the space for move-in, and the only bring-your-own bag you'll need to tote there is the one filled with your tennis shoes and a padlock. 24-Hour Fitness has begun their renovation, and are aiming for a summertime open, reports North Hollywood Patch.
The site will be home to a 43,000 fitness facility--a potential rival to the other gyms, big and small, in the vicinity, and to the apartment complex fitness centers set up for residents. "Representatives from the new club agreed that they would fill a different need for the community, stressing the affordability of their clubs."
Many in the community are disappointed that a grocery store didn't move into the space. However, the landlord's broker said getting one in the space wasn't proving to be an easy task, saying: "It was a hard sell for a supermarket after a supermarket didn’t succeed there.”
