We need to hear from you.
Today during our spring member drive, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

By Ana Ottman / Special to LAist

We're rolling out a new weekly feature here at LAist that relies on reader participation.

Overheard in L.A. will feature the humorous, puzzling or just plain weird quips you hear around our fair city. We're taking our cue from sister sites DCist and Seattlest, but only at LAist can you find out about what Chucky said to Spiderman about Superman while they were enjoying a smoke break on Hollywood Boulevard.)

Keep your eyes and ears open and share your overheard stories by e-mailing tips@laist.com. In the e-mail, be sure to include the subject "overheard" who said it, where they said it and any amusing context.
