A naked man bolted from the back of an ambulance and got killed after running into freeway traffic in Orange County this morning.

The man started this morning off in an ambulance for some reason that hasn't been reported. But he started acting erratically, so the ambulance driver pulled over while driving northbound on the 5 freeway in Tustin, the OC Register reported.

That's when the man bolted from the back of the ambulance and into traffic. He had quite a run: he jumped over the center divider and managed to make it across the southbound side of the freeway. He ran through the southbound connector to the 55 freeway. An off-duty sheriff deputy grabbed him and tried to calm him down, but he broke free. That's when a pick-up truck slammed into him and killed him at the scene.

The OC Register has pictures of the truck's shattered windshield and a body draped in a yellow cover.
