More Than 200 Collectives Apply for Marijuana Lottery

229 marijuana collectives filed paperwork to apply for a lottery that will authorize 100 medical disipensaries to legally sell medical marijuana, according to the LA City Clerk's Office.It's the city’s second attempt to find a way to separate legal from illegal dispensaries. The first was ruled unconstitutional by a judge. Under the new proposal, dispensaries must have been in operation since September 2007 with at least one of the same operators since that time. City officials believe that only about 135 collectives can meet the requirements. The deadline to apply was February 18th.
