Photos: Car Crashes Into Chipotle, Injuring 8
A car crashed into a Chipotle in Mid-City, injuring eight people.
According to the LAFD on Twitter, the car crashed into the Chipotle at the Midtown Shopping Center on the 4500 block of West Pico Boulevard around 2 p.m., Friday afternoon. The restaurant is located atop a parking structure instead of street level. Although the car hit the restaurant, it did so horizontally instead of penetrating the storefront. Officials say it caused only superficial damage to the building.
Firefighters say eight people in total were taken away with injuries, including a family of four that all suffered minor injuries. The four others suffered various injuries that were all minor to serious.
Authorities did not say what caused the driver to hit the restaurant.
