Man Fatally Stabbed At Metro Blue Line Station

A man was fatally stabbed early Friday morning on the platform of a Metro Blue Line stop in Long Beach, police say.Metro's Kim Upton told City News Service that the Wardlow Station, located at 3400 block of North Pacific Place, has been closed while homicide detectives investigated the scene.
According to ABC 7, an initial investigation found that two men got into a fight, and one was stabbed around 2 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity is withheld pending next of kin notification.
Metro tweeted that Wardlow Road was closed from Pacific Place to Magnolia Avenue, and Pacific Place from Wardlow Road to the 405 freeway by authorities as the investigation was underway. Buses replaced trains between the Willow-Del Almo Station, and Metro Blue Line riders can also be picked up by a bus at Wardlow Road and Pacific Place.
The station and streets are expected to reopen around 2 p.m.
