A man fatally shot in the head this morning in a San Bernardino apartment may have been playing Russian Roulette. The victim, a male in his mid-thirties, according to the San Bernardino Sun, was found with a gunshot wound to the head early Wednesday morning inside the residence. At the scene was another man, who was detained but not arrested; authorities are considering the man a "person of interest."

The man died soon after at an area hospital.

Though currently the death is considered accidental, authorities are investigating whether the duo, and possibly others, were engaged in a game of Russian Roulette. The participants may have been passing the loaded revolver back and forth for an unknown number of turns.

"Everything lends toward exactly what we believed it was: playing Russian roulette," [San Bernardino police Lt. Paul] Williams said, according to L.A. Now. "For whatever the reason was, they were, and [the victim] lost his life as a result."
