Holiday market organized by Eaton Fire survivor comes to Altadena this weekend
Topline:
A holiday market focused on supporting Altadenans affected by January’s firestorm is happening this Saturday and Sunday.
The backstory: Winter Bloom market and gathering co-founder Maggie Ruder lost her home in the blaze. She says she hopes this gathering, located at Odyssey Charter Schools in West Altadena, will bring Altadenans dispersed by the fire back together.
“And share some space with a lot of other people who are going through the same thing, but share that space in celebration of what we’re all fighting so hard for,” she said.
The details: The market will include a long list of local craft vendors, an art therapy workshop and live music curated by Healing Force of the Universe records. The lineup includes an acoustic set from members of local indie rock OGs Ozma.
Organizers behind Ornaments for Altadena also will be at the market to distribute holiday ornaments to fire-affected families who signed up for a time slot.
- Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The market takes place at Odyssey Charter Schools on 725 W. Altadena Drive.
