Topline:
The Getty Villa Museum is reopening next month after closing for the Palisades Fire.
The backstory: The museum closed its doors four months ago after it was threatened by January’s wildfire. Staff have since deep cleaned indoor and outdoor spaces, flushed the water system and removed more than 1,300 damaged trees, Getty officials said in a statement.
Why now: It’ll be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Monday starting June 27. Since the Villa is not accessible from Sunset Boulevard, the shortened schedule is to limit traffic on Pacific Coast Highway.
Details: You can make free reservations here. Access will be limited to 500 people daily. Getty officials warned that you may notice less vegetation and some fire damage when you visit.
