Longshoreman Crushed to Death After Container Falls on Him
A longshoreman working at the Port of Long Beach was crushed to death after a container fell on him last night.
Steven Nicholas Saggiani, 47, died at the scene after the container fell on him just before 7 pm last night, City News Service reported. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident to find out what happened. The crane operator dropped the container on his boss, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Friends of Saggiani told The Daily Breeze that he had recently purchased a home near Cal State Long Beach.
