Former Sheriff Lee Baca To Plead Guilty To Lying To Federal Investigators

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca will plead guilty to one charge of lying to federal investigators during their investigation of corruption in the Sheriff's Department.

The plea will come on Wednesday before a federal judge in Los Angeles. As part of his deal with prosecutors, Baca will not face any more charges and spend no more than six months in jail, his attorney Michael Zweibeck told the L.A. Times.
Baca resigned in 2014 in the middle of the federal investigation into the alleged misconduct and abuse committed by deputies in his agency. So far, over a dozen former sheriff's officials have been convicted.
