Airport officials at LAX have announced a significant change in their parking operations which is effective this month, LA Now is reporting. Parking Lot B, the long-term economy lot located at 111th Street and La Cienega Boulevard is slated to close permanently and public parking services once offered there will be "consolidated with other lots."The LAX website's parking page indicates "Parking Lot B will permanently close on January 7, 2010," however officials have advised the public that "travelers who have left vehicles in long-term Parking Lot B at Los Angeles International Airport will have until Jan. 31 to remove them after the lot closes permanently on Thursday."

For those who routinely use Lot B, LAX suggests using Lot C, located to the north of the airport at 96th Street and Sepulveda Boulevard. "Passengers returning to Lot B after Thursday will have to catch a Lot B/E shuttle on the upper level of the Central Terminal Area, by the Employee Shuttle Stop signs in front of each terminal."
