Las Vegas Chimps On the Loose: 1 Shot Dead, 1 Captured

A tense, ongoing situation on the streets of Northwest Las Vegas, as two chimps have been running around on the loose. One chimpanzee was shot, and is reported dead, according to KTNV, while the second remains at large.It is not known where the chimps came from or how they got out on the streets.
The chimpanzees were initially spotted by residents around 10:15 this morning.
Las Vegas police are using Twitter to keep locals apprised of the chimp chase:

UPDATE 11:55 AM: The second chimp has been captured and tranquilized.
"Police have placed a tent over one chimp in the road that has been motionless for at least 15 minutes and another was loaded into a animal control vehicle," notes KLAS-TV.
