LA Woman With Cancer Asks Out Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt on YouTube

Lindsey Miller, 26, is among the millions of us living in Los Angeles who never seems to run into celebrities--especially the one she has a crush on. Miller, a cancer patient, says on her blog that she recently saw the film 50/50, and has a message for its star, Joseph Gordon-Levitt: She wants to go on a date with him.
Miller posted her wish via a short YouTube video. She says she's finally ready to get back into the dating scene, and she wants the actor, who played a cancer patient in the dark comedy, to be her first date.
Miller, who is getting her Master's in Urban Planning, was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in October 2010. She explains what lies ahead for her: "There is no cure, only more surgery, possibly a liver transplant, or continued chemotherapy."
In her blog, Miller explains:
[A]fter seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, “This guy gets it. And he’s cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere.” But even though I live in LA, it seems impossible to find him.
She admits it's a stretch, and that it could even be a little "ridiculous." Her 38 second video ends with her saying she doesn't want much--just to meet Gordon-Levitt for a cup of coffee. Miller's approach to asking the actor out is enough reason for any of us to take a risk and be brave: "[L]ife is short. So, why not?"
