Here Are The Street Closures For This Sunday's L.A. Marathon

The Los Angeles Marathon is upon us again! The L.A. Marathon is happening Sunday, kicking off at 6:30 a.m. at Dodger Stadium and concluding in the afternoon in Santa Monica. This means 26.2 miles of street closures for all you non-runners out there.

Here are the course closures, the earliest going into effect at 4 a.m.:

  • From 4 a.m. to 9 a.m., Elysian Park Ave. will be closed from Dodger Stadium to Sunset Blvd.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. Sunset Blvd. will be closed from Innes Ave. to Figueroa St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:32 a.m., Cesar Chavez Ave. will be closed from Bunker Hill to Alameda St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:35 a.m. Broadway will be closed from Cesar Chavez Ave. to Alpine St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:35 a.m., Alpine St. will be closed from Hill St. to Alameda St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:35 a.m., Spring St. will be closed from College St. to 2nd St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., Main St. will be closed from E. Cesar Chavez Ave. to 3rd St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. 1st St. will be closed from Hope St. to Alameda St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Central Ave. will be closed from 1st St. to 3rd St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., 2nd St. will be closed from Alameda St. to Broadway
  • From 4 a.m. to 10:05 a.m., Grand Ave. will be closed from Cesar Chavez Ave. to 2nd St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Temple St. will be closed from Alameda St. to Glendale Blvd.
  • From 4 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., Edgeware Rd. will be closed from Temple St. to Boston St.
  • From 4 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., Bellevue Ave. will be closed from Sunset Blvd. to Glendale Blvd.
  • From 4 a.m. to 10:40 a.m., Glendale Blvd. will be closed from Temple St. To Sunset Blvd.
  • From 4 a.m. to 11:10 am., Sunset Blvd. will be closed from Echo Park Ave. to Virgil Ave.
  • From 4 a.m., to noon, Hollywood Blvd. will be closed from Hillhurst Ave. to La Brea
  • From 4 a.m. to noon, Orange Ave. will be closed from Hollywood Blvd. to Sunset Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Sunset Blvd. will be closed from Highland Ave. to Doheny Dr.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., San Vicente Blvd. will be closed form Sunset Blvd. to Melrose Ave.
  • From, 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Santa Monica Blvd. will be closed from La Cienega Blvd. to Sierra Dr.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.,, Doheny Dr. will be closed from Nemo St. to Wilshire Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Burton Way will be closed from Robertson Blvd. to Rexford Dr.
  • From 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., S. Santa Monica Blvd. will be closed from Rexford Dr. to Moreno Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Rodeo Dr. will be closed from Santa Monica Blvd. to Wilshire Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wilshire Blvd. will be closed from Beverly Dr. to Santa Monica Blvd.
  • From 1 p.m., to 1:50 p.m., Santa Monica Blvd. will be closed from Wilshire Blvd. to Sepulveda Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 2:04 p.m., Sepulveda Blvd. will be closed from Santa Monica Blvd. to Wilshire Ave.
  • From 5 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., Wilshire Blvd. (westbound lanes) will be closed from Sepulveda Blvd. to Barry Ave.
  • From 5 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., Barry Ave. will be closed form Wilshire Blvd. to Goshen St.
  • From 5 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., Goshen St. will be closed from Barry Ave. to San Vicente Blvd.
  • From 5 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., San Vicente Blvd. will be closed from Wilshire Blvd. to Ocean Avenue
  • From midnight to 5 p.m., Ocean Avenue will be closed from San Vicente Blvd. to Pico Blvd.

Additional street closures, which will permit local access only, are listed here. They are not on the actual course.

For those of you who'd like to watch the marathon, there are bands playing along the course and a Cheer Alley located near Mile 18 as runners leave Beverly Hills. The Cheer Alley consists of more than 600 local cheerleaders who will each perform a 2-minute routine to encourage runners to keep going.

  • Mile 25- San Vicente Blvd & Ocean Ave
