A Navy veteran died Friday after jumping nearly 30 feet off a platform on onto a giant airbag, part of an attraction at the San Bernardino County Fair, coroner's officials said.

Sabrina Gordon, 31, of Hesperia fell 28 feet from the attraction called FreeDrop USA Thursday night. She apparently bounced off the giant airbag similar to the ones used in stunts and hit her head on the asphalt, her father told NBC 4.

Gordon was rushed to the hospital where she died just after midnight Friday.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, The Associated Press reports.

"To see they had no safety nets or any kind of safety precautions at all, this accident could have been completely avoided," Clifford Gordon, her husband, told NBC 4.

FreeDrop USA has been closed pending an investigation.
