Weekend Traffic: Changes in Metro service, freeway closures on 10, 5 and more

Heads up, LA commuters:
The southbound 405 freeway will see a full closure between the 101 and Getty Center Drive off-ramp on Sunday from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. The closure will not prevent access to the 101 freeway.
Included in the closure are ramps to and from the southbound 405 freeway:
- Burbank Boulevard on-ramp
- Ventura Boulevard on- and off-ramps
- Valley Vista Boulevard on- and off- ramps
- Skirball Center Drive on- and off-ramps
Ramp closures will begin at 7 p.m. and lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. This closure was originally scheduled for Thursday but has since been postponed due to rain, according to a blog post in The Source, Metro's transportation blog.

- Freeway Closure: Full closures of the 10 freeway near the Cherry Avenue overpass are planned through Saturday as part of the Cherry Avenue Interchange Improvement Project in Fontana. Read More
- Ramp Closure at Tippecanoe Avenue: Eastbound 10 freeway off-ramp to Tippecanoe Avenue/Anderson Street will be closed starting Friday at 10 p.m. It is expected to reopen Monday at 6 a.m.

- Freeway Closures: The 405, 22 and 605 freeways in Los Alamitos and Westminster see nightly closures as part of the West County Connectors project, overseen by the Orange County Transportation Authority. Read More
Road Closure
- Overland Avenue: Overland Avenue between Pico and National boulevards will be closed all weekend for construction on the Expo Line project. The closure begins at 9 p.m. Friday and ends at 6 a.m. Monday. Read More
- Alondra Boulevard and Freeway Drive Intersection: The Alondra Blvd. and Freeway Drive intersection will be closed until Feb. 14, 2014. Alondra Boulevard Bridge will also be closed until mid/late 2014. Read More
- Corner of Paddison and Zeus avenues: Adoree Street will be fully closed between Kalnor Avenue and the corner of Paddison and Zeus avenues through late February 2014. The corner of Paddison and Zeus avenues will also be fully closed. Read More
- 1st Avenue and Santa Clara Street intersection: The intersection of 1st Avenue and Santa Clara Street in the City of Arcadia will be completely closed as crews start constructing grade crossing improvements. The intersection is expected to reopen in February 2014. (A temporary re-opening of the intersection is planned for a few days in early November 2013). Read More
- California Avenue and Duarte Road intersection: As part of the 11.5-mile Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail project, construction crews will work on the Southern half of California Avenue at the intersection of Duarte Road in Monrovia from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Saturday until February 2014. - Metro Expo Line: Bus shuttles will replace Metro Expo Line service between La Cienega/Jefferson Station and Culver City Station on Saturday in order for Metro to perform planned track maintenance.
