UCLA football player Torian White arrested on suspicion of sexual assault

UCLA football player Torian White, 20, was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of sexual assault, UCLA said in a Tuesday statement. However, prosecutors rejected the allegations, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate data.
Police say that White was arrested at an apartment complex near campus, according to the release. White was arrested at 3:39 a.m. Sunday by UCLA police, according to L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate data.
"We are aware of the situation involving Torian White, and we take these accusations very seriously," UCLA football coach Jim Mora said in the statement. "Torian has been suspended from the team indefinitely while the legal process and student discipline process run their course. Due to the ongoing police investigation, we are unable to discuss this matter further at this time."
White, an offensive lineman on the UCLA football team, began at UCLA in fall 2011. However, he hasn't played since Oct. 3 after injuring his right leg in a game against Utah.
