Orange County plans to stop housing ICE detainees
Orange County has announced that it will stop housing detainees from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to free up more space for inmates requiring mental health services.
The county will stop housing detainees as of Aug. 1, according to ICE, which said in a statement that the move will force the agency to relocate detainees farther away. Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes said the ICE detainees will likely be relocated out of state.
