Thunderstorms hit Orange County, San Gabriel Valley
Some wild weather – at least for this time of year – swept through Orange County and the San Gabriel Valley this morning. The storm cell delivered downpours, lightning and thunder.
The storm barreled through northern Orange County, including Fullerton, Yorba Linda and Brea.
Lightning hit power lines in Carbon Canyon Park in Brea.
It struck the campus of Fullerton Community College, too, knocking out power there. The campus has canceled classes for the day because of that power outage.
Lightning-caused power outages also darkened lights at several intersections in the county, leading to at least one crash that injured a woman.
Lightning also struck several trees in the county, before the storm moved north to the San Gabriel Valley.
