New rule would allow pot delivery anywhere in California, and some cities aren't happy
State cannabis regulators were in Los Angeles Tuesday morning to hear public comment on proposed rules covering everything from pot advertising to packaging requirements.
One provision on pot delivery sparked a lot of disagreement. Delivery business owners said the rule allowing delivery throughout the state — even in cities that have enacted local bans — would help sick patients, and give the voters what they wanted: broad access to legal pot.
But city officials in Covina, Thousand Oaks and Beverly Hills turned out to say the proposed rule takes away their local control.
