Celebrating Michael Jackson's music legacy at the Grammy Museum
Michael Jackson died one year ago today.
Several months before Jackson died, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles launched an exhibition showcasing some of Jackson’s personal memorabilia.
The museum’s director, Robert Santelli, said the exhibit was supposed to be open for only about six months. Coincidentally, on the day the King of Pop died, Santelli told KPCC’s Steve Julian that the museum was taking the exhibit down.

A tribute concert that will mark the anniversary of the pop singer's death will also take place Saturday at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills.
VoicePlate Productions is staging the "Forever Michael" fan event, which is being done with the family's approval.
NBC said earlier this week it would feature an interview Friday with Katherine Jackson on a "Dateline NBC" segment titled "Michael Jackson: A Mother's Story."
