Military helicopters flying over Los Angeles cause a social media stir

If you heard or saw military helicopters flying in formation over Southern California on Tuesday, you weren't alone.

A number of people took to social media to wonder what was going on.

As KPCC's Libby Denkmann explains, those were 22 U.S. Army Apache and Blackhawk helicopters, returning from a training mission at Fort Irwin in the Mojave Desert.

Click on the blue media player at the top of your screen to hear the story, which first aired on 89.3 KPCC. To read the full article, head on over to LAist.com.
