With a snowpack expected to last well into summer, Mammoth Mountain today announced daily summertime flights from LAX on Horizon Air for $69 each way.

The summertime schedule starts April 12 and will continue through September.

The 70-minute flight will depart from LAX and arrive at the Mammoth Yosemite Airport, which is about 15 minutes from Mammoth Mountain. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, the airport is close to Yosemite National Park and Devils Postpile National Monument.

"Now summer travelers from Southern California also will be able to easily access one of the country's most popular vacation destinations and Yosemite, a treasured national park," Horizon spokesman Dan Russo said.

Between April 12 and June 5, flights will depart LAX at 3:20 p.m. and 5:40 p.m.

From June 6 until Sept. 30, flights will leave at 4:20 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Tickets are available at HorizonAir.com or by calling (800) 547-9308.
