Aerospace workers in Los Angeles earn $106,200 on average, nearly double the region's median household income. The industry supports the kind of well paying manufacturing jobs Mayor Eric Garcetti wants to see growing in Los Angeles.
On Monday morning, to kick off a national event known as Manufacturing Week, Garcetti toured Aerojet Rocketdyne's manufacturing facility in Canoga Park. He met with workers building rockets that have taken NASA to the moon, and could one day power a manned mission to Mars.
