LA County Board of Supervisors approves funding for LACMA's new building design
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a redesign plan for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on April 9. The vote came alongside some worries from critics concerned about the size and spending plans.
LACMA’s controversial new design plan will cost $650 million dollars. Taxpayers will foot a big chunk of the bill.
L.A. County will contribute $125 million and take out a $300 million bond to cover that cost with the remaining amount eventually set to be paid back through LACMA’s fundraising efforts.
