L.A. City Council passes historic civil rights ordinance
The city of Los Angeles is going to play a bigger role in fighting discrimination.
The unanimous vote establishes a civil rights commission that will oversee discrimination cases in the city. Currently, Angelenos have to file a complaint with the state department of fair employment and housing.
