JetBlue Airways will double its daily flights between Los Angeles International Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport beginning July 1, the airline announced today.

JetBlue began twice-daily service between LAX and New York on June 17, 2009, and decided to add two additional flights due to customer demand, airline officials said.

"Based on our successful launch of service at LAX, we are pleased to offer bi-coastal travelers more choices, including earlier morning departures from the West Coast," said Scott Laurence, vice president of network planning for JetBlue Airways.

Beginning July 1, JetBlue will offer flights from LAX to JFK on an Airbus A320 at 7:30 a.m., 10:55 a.m., 2:45 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. Flights from New York will arrive at LAX at 10:03 a.m. and 1:51, 8:05 and 11:02 p.m.
