Hathaway Fire in Riverside County 73% contained
The Hathaway Fire in the San Gorgonio Wilderness east of Banning is 73 percent contained. The fire, which started June 9, has burned 3,807 acres.
San Bernardino National Forest officials said firefighters are working on remaining hot spots and there is no threat to structures.
At its peak, more than 1,400 firefighters battled the wildfire. About 750 firefighters are working the fire Tuesday.
Fire officials estimated costs at fighting the fire in remote, rugged wilderness at $9 million. The cause of the wildfire is under investigation.
