Grass fire in Mt. Washington area extinguished by helicopter water drops
A grass fire in the Mount Washington area threatened homes early today, before helicopter crews made water drops on the blaze.
The fire broke out near Mount Washington Drive and Marmion Way about 12:45 a.m. and burned for more than an hour before being brought under control, according to a dispatcher and reports from the scene.
A few homes near Glenalbyn Drive and Camino Real were briefly threatened, but there were no immediate reports of damage.
Two different helicopters made drops near Camino Real, a video crew reported from the scene.
