Fire prompts evacuation of USC building; no injuries reported

Authorities have doused a small fire that forced the evacuation of a building at the University of Southern California.
No injuries are reported.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says USC staff reported heavy smoke coming from the fourth floor of an eight-story building at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday.
Humphrey says the building was evacuated. A sprinkler system held the blaze in check and firefighters knocked down the blaze in about 10 minutes.
Humphrey says the flames were confined to an office and may have involved computer equipment.
The extent of damage and the cause of the fire remain under investigation.
