Police have arrested a woman who threatened to bomb the lobby of the Federal Building in Downtown Los Angeles Wednesday morning.

Officer Tony Im with the Los Angeles Police Department told KPCC that the woman called police at around 11 a.m., threatening to detonate a backpack she was wearing. Police tried to convince the woman, who was sitting on the Federal Building steps Wednesday afternoon, to surrender.

The woman was arrested three hours after she made the initial threat, according to The Associated Press.

The LAPD SWAT and their bomb squad were sent to the site and blocked off streets in the surrounding area.
