Evacuation orders lifted as Holcomb Fire reaches 1,200 acres
Mandatory evacuation orders have been lifted near Big Bear Lake as crews continue to battle a wildfire in the San Bernardino National Forest.
The Holcomb Fire broke out Monday afternoon, and has burned about 1,200 acres so far. According to the U.S. Forest Service, it still stands as 10 percent contained.
A shift in the wind prompted authorities to go door-to-door Tuesday afternoon in the Baldwin Lake area, but the order was lifted after about two hours.

Lee Beyer, spokesman with the U.S. Forest Service, told KPCC the weather has been making it more difficult for firefighters to get a handle on the flames:
"As you know, we're looking at an extended heat wave and some near-record temperatures, and that certainly makes fires burn a lot faster," he said.
Authorities in the area say residents should be prepared to evacuate again if the winds change course again.
