Equipment explodes at DWP yard; no injuries
An equipment explosion occurred today in a Department of Water and Power yard, but no one was injured.
Firefighters were called to 1630 N. Main St. at 1:44 p.m., said Rich Matheney of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"A capacitor exploded in the DWP yard, but there was no fire or anything,'' Matheney said. "Power was shut off in the yard.''
The cause of the explosion was unclear, and DWP officials could not immediately be reached.
