Southern California's U.S. House races have all been settled and another GOP enclave goes blue
All of California’s U.S. House races have been called.
Over the weekend, the Associated Press projected the race in the 39th Congressional District in favor of Democrat Gil Cisneros, who won over Republican Young Kim. The district includes cities like Fullerton and Yorba Linda.
With the outcome in the 39th now clear, Democrats swept nearly all of the competitive House seats in Southern California that the Republicans fought hard to hang on to. In Orange County, long a Republican stronghold, Democrats ousted incumbents Mimi Walters and Dana Rohrabacher.
It's a sign that voters in the contested districts are not happy with the Trump administration and Republican congressional leadership.
