Los Angeles police today released surveillance video in hopes of identifying a man who broke into an apartment complex in West Los Angeles and stole about $10,000 worth of tools from the building manager's storage unit.

The break-in occurred Feb. 7 at 4:37 a.m. at the complex in the 1500 block of Bentley Avenue.

The suspect — believed to be responsible for numerous auto burglaries and bike thefts in the West Los Angeles area — was described as a Latino in his 20s, 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall, weighing 150 to 185 pounds.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black Nike sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts was asked to call LAPD burglary Detective George Bowens at (310) 444-1522 or (310) 444-1524.
