Bell High School student shot at hamburger stand near school
Another shooting injured a high school student Wednesday, this time in the city of Bell. Someone in a black truck shot a 16-year-old Bell High School student at a popular hamburger stand near the campus.
County paramedics sent to Boulevards Burgers at 4401 Florence Ave about 3:30 p.m. took the boy to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Matt Levesque said.
Bell police said the boy is expected to survive his wound or wounds. The burger stand is about a half-block from the school.

About 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, a Los Angeles Unified School District police officer was shot outside El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills. His bullet-resistant vest that stopped the 9 mm round that was fired at him by a person described as 40-something white male with long brown hair.
