210 Freeway crash temporarily halts Metro Gold Line service
Metro Gold Line service in Pasadena resumed this afternoon on one track following a freeway crash that injured three people and left wreckage on the tracks, according to Metro.
The crash involving a car and a big rig on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway occurred shortly before 8 a.m. at San Gabriel Boulevard, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.
The truck ended up on the railroad tracks, which run along the median of the freeway. No trains were involved in the crash, but rail service was interrupted while crews worked to clear the scene, and a bus shuttle was instituted.
One track was cleared this afternoon, said Luis Inzunza of Metro.
The bus shuttle has been canceled, but a shuttle train will operate between the Sierra Madre Villa and Allen stations. Passengers can expect delays up to 15 minutes, he said.
Passengers taking the train between Allen, Union Station and Atlantic Station can expect five-minute delays.
