2 South Pasadena students arrested in connection with potential mass shooting
Two South Pasadena High School students were arrested after reports that they had plans to kill three staff members and as many students as possible with firearms at their school, according to a press release.
Police learned of the potential mass shooting from officials at South Pasadena High School. The release issued Monday by South Pasadena Police Department states:
"Detectives served warrants at each of the suspect's homes. Enough evidence was discovered and based on that evidence, the two suspects were arrested at their homes. One of the suspects was arrested without incident. The second suspect resisted arrest and officers had to force entry into his resident. He was captured in the home as he tried to run away from the arresting officers."
Police are slated to give an update at a news conference 10 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with additional information is being asked to contact the South Pasadena Police Department detectives at (626)403-7297.
