Kaiser Accident: 83-Year-Old Man Kills Wife In Hospital Crash

An 83-year-old man accidentally crashed his Ford F-250 truck into a parking structure wall at Kaiser Permanente in Panorama City on Friday, killing his 80-year-old wife as he picked her up from the hospital, reports CBS Local. Gordon Curry was sitting inside of his stopped truck at the passenger loading area of Kaiser just before 2:35 p.m. when his wife, Hanna Curry, 80, entered the vehicle, notes Detective James Deaton of the LAPD Valley Traffic Division.
The truck suddenly accelerated forward, out of control, hitting an open door of a taxi cab, jumping a raised median, striking a small tree, crossing a service entry, colliding with a steel rail fence, and ultimately crashing into the concrete wall of the parking structure where the vehicle came to rest, report authorities.
Deaton said both the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment and that driver Curry suffered severe injuries as a result of the impact, reports CBS Local. Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to call police (818) 644-8032 or (877) LAPD-24-7.
