Jerk, Chicken: NBA Stars at Roscoe's Say a Mouthful to TMZ Camera

Nothing says class and intellect like the parking lot of Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles, as a TMZ video proves.

The cameras caught up with NBA rookies Brandon Jennings and Demar DeRozan, who take some time to pontificate on the clientele of Roscoe's ("You can find everybody from Obama here, to, you know, people like us") to the merits of going there despite its calorie-laden signature menu items:

"It's the spot, man. It's where you meet chicks at. Where you just get your groove and your grub on. You know. You get the black people-itis after you get done eating."

The pair don't know who Lindsay Lohan is, but they do have some thoughts on the role of race in religion ("Jesus is black, though,"). There's even an impromptu "jerk" dance demo! Just some food for thought from two emerging ballers: "We at Roscoe's, gettin' it LA style, baby."

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit.
