Is Amanda Bynes a Drinker? Video Suggests Yes, Her Dad Says No

"Amanda Bynes drinks ... A LOT" begins a piece published today by TMZ. They include a video they say is evidence the former teen TV star has a serious partying problem.

The celeb gossip site points to a series of very recent incidents in which their intrepid crews spied the actress out on the down, but perhaps down for the count thanks to some alcohol overindulgence.

On March 17, Bynes, 26, was reportedly urged by a venue valet to not get behind the wheel because she appeared intoxicated (she didn't listen) and just a few days later, friends had to hold her up and help her out of the same venue and make sure she didn't drive (she did listen). Then, last week, Bynes was behind the wheel of her BMW after an alleged night of drinking at The Standard when she clipped a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department patrol car in West Hollywood, and was booked on suspicion of DUI.

After letting Bynes get a grip--or dry out--at the WeHo LASD Station, Bynes was released with a citation, and did not need to post bail.

Bynes reportedly tried to go back to the scene of her imbibing, The Standard, the following night, but was turned away by a doorman who feared Bynes might repeat the drinking-and-driving stunt and bring down the rep of the bar.

But one person says Bynes isn't a drinker, and, in fact insists she wasn't drinking the night of her DUI. Bynes' father, Rick, told People.com: "I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink."

So why did Bynes sideswipe a cop car and appear too tipsy to drive? Easy: Bynes was "upset and very emotional," claims her father. Besides, people are picking on his daughter for opting to not take acting gigs: "She is a good girl. She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her."

Nearly two years ago via Twitter, Bynes announced she was taking some time off from acting, since she'd been doing it for so dang long. She said she didn't love acting, and was still figuring out her life.
