The judge in the preliminary hearing of the Bell corruption case ordered the husband of the star witness removed from court after "a bailiff reported seeing him signaling his wife while on the stand," reports LA Now.

Lourdes Garcia, the city's director of administrative services who earned about $422,000, was testifying on Tuesday morning against eight former and current Bell officials in exchange limited immunity when the incident allegedly took place.

Judge Henry J. Hall was informed by a bailiff that Jose Garcia, who also works for the city of Bell, was signaling "to his wife from the gallery of the courtroom." reports LA Now. After calling a sidebar with attorneys the judge ordered Mr. Garcia to be removed from the court. Jose Garcia denied he was signaling his wife.
