Recipes For Your Thanksgiving Leftovers (And Other Headlines)

My favorite day of the week — it’s Food Friday! This week is all about Thanksgiving leftovers.

Leftover meal ideas

If you, like me, have a fridge full of leftovers from yesterday’s festivities, you’re probably wondering: How can I reimagine this bowl of turkey so I don’t end up eating the same thing for a week?

My colleague Gab Chabrán talked to some chefs in L.A. to get inspiration. Here’s a little preview of the types of recipes: Stuffing hand pies. Fruity sangria. Turkey taquitos.

If your mouth watered just like mine did after reading that list, then you should click this link to get all the recipes. Let me know if you end up trying any!

OK, maybe I won’t be shopping when you read this. There’s a chance that I’ll still be sleeping when you get this email, but I have every intention of attempting to get some gift shopping done during this long weekend. Here are some of the LAist gift guides I’ll be reading while I figure out what to get friends and family:

  • I may be in my 30s, but I still love a good picture book. Here are 17 books from Southern California authors that are good to give to kids and adults.
  • This gift guide is for all kinds of foodies — the person who loves cooking, the one whose love language is going to brunch, or if you enjoy all of our Food Friday content.
  • One day, I’ll start my plant collection. But if you already know someone who loves plants and their house is full of them, this guide is full of plantastic gifts.
  • Do you have that person in your life who loves to support local businesses? These are some unique gifts that you can only find in L.A.
  • Are you team cats? Team dogs? Let’s put our differences aside and agree that they both deserve all the treats in the world. Here’s a gift guide for finding the puuuurrrfect present for your pet.

If you decide not to shop this weekend, just save this email for future reference and instead check out all the cool, fun things you can do this weekend.
