How Much Is Villaraigosa's Pension?

There's an important update for those of us who have been following Antonio Villaraigosa's post-mayoral existence.The Los Angeles City Employee Retirement System announced that former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, now 60, will be receiving $8,115 each month from his pension. That adds up to $97,380 annually, according to The Daily News. He was credited with putting in 24.5 years of service during his tenure on the City Council, the state assembly and, of course, as mayor.
Villaraigosa also has a job advising the CEO of Banc of California, a community bank based in Beverly Hills and Irvine. It's not known how much he's drawing for that position.
There's been a lot of speculation about Villaraigosa would be doing in the day after he left office. The LA Weekly ran an article about how the former mayor would be in for a rude awakening the day he left office on July 1. They estimated that in order to continue living the life he did as mayor, Villaraigosa would have to be draw $750,000 each year annually.
There are still rumors floating around that Villaraigosa might try to run for the Governor of California at some point.
