Shooting Outside Hookah Lounge Wounds Two

Two people were wounded on Saturday night following a shooting outside of a hookah lounge in Buena Park, not far from Knott's Berry Farm. A police chase through Anaheim ensued after the shooting. City News Service reports that a police officer heard gunshots coming from the La Capitane Hookah Lounge at 8558 Beach Blvd. around 2:30 a.m. According to ABC-7, when police arrived, they found two people who had been wounded in the parking lot.
Then, suspects fled in a silver SUV, speeding through Anaheim before the chase ended due to a vehicle malfunction near Brookhurst Street and Lincoln Avenue, police said. One of the suspects tried to flee on foot, but was taken into custody. KTLA reports that three men and one woman were inside the SUV, and that the driver had a gunshot wound.
According to KTLA, a fight began inside the hookah lounge and spilled out into the parking lot, and that witnesses said police are "often" called to the lounge due to altercations or other disruptive incidents.
"All the pieces are there. It's just a matter of talking to everybody," Sgt. Bret Carte told City News Service. "It's a hookah lounge on a Saturday night."
The Facebook page for the hookah lounge indicates that its name was recently changed from "La Capitaine" to "M'kani Hookah Lounge, and has undergone some rebranding as of just a couple of days ago.
