Hollywood Christmas Parade: Streets You Should Avoid

Get ready for the traffic headache, Hollywood: the annual Hollywood Christmas Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. this evening. The city has a list of freeways and streets that will be closed during the festivities.

Buzz Aldrin will serve as the Grand Marshal of the parade. Leeann Rimes, Billy Ray Cyrus, William Shatner, Kenny Loggins and Jerry Mathers and Tony Dow from "Leave It To Beaver" will also appear at the parade.

Starting at 1 p.m. today, streets that will be closed will include:


  • Hollywood Blvd. between Highland and Vine.
  • Sunset Blvd. between Highland and Vine.
  • Vine Street between Sunset and Hollywood.
  • Franklin Ave. between Highland and La Brea.
  • Highland Ave. between Franklin and Sunset.
  • Santa Monica Blvd. between La Brea and Gower.

Starting at 4 p.m., streets that will be closed will include:

  • The east side of La Brea from Hollywood to Sunset.
  • Highland Ave. from Franklin to Santa Monica.
  • Hollywood Blvd. from Highland to Gower.
  • Vine Street from Franklin to Santa Monica.
  • Sunset Blvd. from Highland to Gower.
  • Sunset Blvd. from Highland to La Brea.
