Matt Bendik, the director of operations at WeHo's DBA and co-owner of AV Nightclub in Hollywood, was found dead in a Philadelphia hotel room while on a business trip with his girlfriend, Glee actress Becca Tobin. Bendik was only 35 years old. Bendik and Tobin, 28, were out with friends on Wednesday night, TMZ reports. What happened after Bendik left the club is unclear, but Bendik's body was discovered 'face-down' by a maid just after noon on Thursday, and Tobin was not present. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics shortly after 1 p.m. Philadelphia police are calling Bendik's death a "sudden death."

Initially, TMZ reported that sources saw the couple leave the club together, but later posted an update that law enforcement said the last person to see him alive was a manager at the club just after midnight, meaning Tobin and Bendik may have left separately.

Philadelphia police say there were no weapons, drugs, medication or paraphernalia in the room, and Bendik's friends say he was not known to party heavily. At this point, neither foul play or suicide is suspected.

DBA paid a tribute to Bendik last night on their marquee.

It's almost a year to the day that Tobin's co-star Cory Monteith was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room of a drug and alcohol overdose.
